Booking Terms
How a trip actually happens
1. You agree on dates, then lock it in. The hardest part of any group trip is getting everyone to agree on when. So that's the starting point - you and your group settle on real dates before anything else happens. Once you fill in the form to lock the trip in, that's the commitment point.
2. We find your stay. Once your dates and group size are confirmed, we search for accommodation that fits what you've told us - budget, group size, apartment or hotel - and what we know about the city. This happens after you lock in, not before, because there's no point shortlisting places for dates that might not hold.
3. You get three real options. We'll send you a short list - described by neighborhood and feel, not a public listing - so you can pick based on vibe rather than getting lost comparing addresses. You'll have 48 hours to decide, since good places for a group get booked up fast and we want to lock in what you actually saw.
4. You pay, we confirm the exact place. Once you've chosen and paid the concierge fee/deposit, we'll send over the exact property and everything you need to know. Payment right now is by invoice, not automatic - we'll send it to you directly once your group has picked.
5. Flights are on you, and that's on purpose. We don't book flights, and we won't point you toward booking them until your accommodation is actually sorted - buying a ticket for a trip that might not happen yet is a real risk, and we'd rather you not carry it. Once everything's locked, we're happy to point you to a good place to look.
Your data
We only collect what's needed to plan your trip and follow up with you - see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.
What Lark actually is
Lark is a trip concierge, not a travel agency or tour operator. We help you plan and coordinate a group trip - we don't sell you a package, and we're not the ones you're booking flights or accommodation through. You book those directly, yourself, with the actual providers. We'd recommend picking up travel insurance before you go.
What if the group doesn't come together?
Trips run from 3 to 8 people. At least 3 people need to confirm and pay within 5 days of the trip being started - if that doesn't happen, the trip doesn't go ahead and any payment already made is refunded in full. If your group is bigger than 3, we still wait for everyone in your expected group to pay before we start finding your stay - that part isn't on the 5-day clock, just the minimum needed for the trip to go ahead at all.
What if the place we picked falls through?
Sometimes a boutique place gets booked by someone else while your group is still deciding. If that happens, we'll come back with a real alternative rather than leaving you hanging - and if none of the alternatives work for your group, you're not stuck with anything you didn't choose.
What the concierge fee/deposit actually covers
Not a booking fee - it's what turns "we should do this" into a trip that actually happens.
It buys the nineteen hours and eighty-three messages your group won't have to spend: a shortlist someone already trusted enough to stake their name on, real checking of what's actually available for your dates, and the push that gets a group from "we should" to "we're going." It's not a guarantee of perfect - it's a guarantee someone already checked. The accommodation itself is paid separately, directly to wherever you end up staying, or folded into what we invoice you depending on how a given trip is set up.
